Commonly used for porch rocker restoration, Nantucket Basket staves, and decorative weaving patterns, this versatile material requires water soaking before use to achieve optimal pliability for wrapping, weaving, and joint-binding tasks.

Nantucket Quality 6mm Binder

We now also offer 6mm Wide Binder Cane in a Nantucket Quality grade—a premium tier of Binder Cane specifically selected for Nantucket Basket Weaving staves as well as high-end furniture and antique furniture restoration, such as rocking chairs. In basket weaving, these staves are inserted into a Nantucket mold to establish the shape of the basket, after which weavers work around the staves to complete the piece, whether it's a traditional Nantucket Basket or a Nantucket Lightship Purse. This Nantucket Quality option gives crafters and restorers a higher-grade material suited to more refined, detail-oriented projects.
