Ash Splint: Ash Splint from HH Perkins is locally grown and harvested from Ash Trees in the United States. Also called Ash Wood Splint, Ash Splint has a beautiful wood grain. We recommend using a Tung Oil finish on Ash. Ash Splint is thinly cut, pliable, and durable. Ash Splint resembles Flat Reed; however, Flat Reed is made from Rattan, whereas Ash Splint is made from wood. The strands are 6ft long, & 10 strands per bundle. A 16" seat requires 3 bundles of splint. Ash Splint makes sturdy Adirondack Pack Baskets and Adirondack Backpack Kits. Ash Splint is flat on both sides.
