Cherry Stave Pack: The Cherry Stave Pack has 25 pieces of expertly crafted Cherry wood to use as basket staves. Cherry Staves are used instead of Binder Cane or reeds when weaving a Nantucket Lightship Basket. Each Cherry Stave measures 2 ft long and comes in various sizes. They are ready to be sanded, tapered, and beveled. The Staves should be steamed or boiled for extra pliability. If Cherry Staves aren't used right away, they should be stored in the freezer. This goes for any thinly cut fresh wood.
