Fibre Splint: Fibre Splint is made from natural brown kraft paper. It has the look of Hickory splint when woven into chair seats. This product is also used in some Shaker reproduction weaves. This section of Fibre Splint is for 10 lb coils. The average size 14" x 14" chair seat uses 2-3 pounds of Fibre Splint. The 10lb coils are an excellent and cost-effective choice when weaving sets of furniture.
This flat kraft paper product should only be used indoors. Do not soak this product in water. No finish like shellac is required after the seat is woven with the splint. Fiber splint is also used for basket making and assorted crafts. Fibre Splint also goes by Fiber Splint. The spelling of Fiber is interchangeable and is referred to as both ways in the industry.
