3/8" Flat Reed is approximately 135 feet of material per coil. This popular size is flat on both sides and known for its exceptional ability to bend without breaking, making it ideal for a wide range of weaving applications. Flat Reed is flat on both sides.
11/64" Flat Oval Reed is approximately 175 feet per coil. This narrower size is perfect for detailed work and various craft projects where a more delicate reed is needed. Flat Oval Reed is flat on one side and is rounded on the other. The rounded side should face outwards.
Both varieties are made from the inner core of the rattan vine and should be soaked in water before use to increase pliability and durability. They can be stained, painted, or oiled to achieve your desired finish. Half-pound coils are especially convenient when working on projects that require multiple reed sizes.
