Flat Oval Reed: Flat Oval Reeds are made from the Inside core of a Rattan Palm. To weave this product, it must be soaked in water for about 10 -20 minutes. Flat Oval reed has a curved-oval top and a flat bottom. Reed is sold by the pound and the strands vary in length from 6ft to 18ft depending on the width of the reed. One coil of Reed will weave an average 15" square project. The average Porch Rocker needs 4 coils of Flat Oval Reeds to complete. Each 1 pound coil is enough material to make several baskets. Reed can be stained, painted, & oiled.
